One day, a 17-year-old boy who works part-time at Pizza Hut pulled up in a stunning Porsche. His parents were stunned and immediately asked, “Where did you get that car?”
“I bought it today,” the boy said casually.
His mother, looking very concerned, asked, “With what money? You can’t afford a Porsche. We know how much those cost!”
The boy explained, “Well, it’s used, and I got a great deal. I only paid $20 for it.”
“Who in their right mind would sell a car like that for $20?” his mother asked, still in shock.
“The woman up the street,” he answered. “She just moved in, so I don’t know her name. After I delivered her pizza, she asked if I wanted to buy her Porsche for $20.”
His parents, unable to believe their ears, rushed over to the new neighbor’s house to demand an explanation. When they got there, they found the woman peacefully arranging flowers in her front yard.
The father, trying to contain his anger, said, “I’m the father of the boy you sold a Porsche to for $20. You need to explain this.”
The woman looked up calmly from her gardening and said, “Well, this morning, I got a call from my husband. I thought he was in Florida on a business trip, but it turns out he ran off to Hawaii with his secretary and isn’t coming back.”
“What does that have to do with selling our son a Porsche for $20?” the mother asked, clearly confused.
The new neighbor smiled broadly and said, “My husband asked me to sell his new Porsche and send him the money. So, I did.”
