Once upon a time in a busy city, there was a boss named Mr. Johnson who had a big surprise planned. He gathered his secretary, Lily, and said with excitement, “We are traveling abroad for the week! Make all the arrangements!”
Lily smiled, her heart racing at the thought of a spontaneous trip. This was going to be an adventure! She quickly picked up the phone to call her husband, Mike. “Hey honey, guess what? My boss and I are traveling abroad for some important reasons!”
Mike’s eyes lit up, but then a cheeky smile spread across his face. He thought to himself, This means I’ll have some time alone with my secret girlfriend, Sarah. He quickly grabbed his phone and called her. “Sarah, babe! My wife is traveling for the weekend! Come over to my house so we can finally be together!”
Meanwhile, Sarah was busy with her job as a tutor. She paused, looking at the clock, then grabbed her phone. “Oh no! I won’t be home this week. I need to cancel today’s lesson with my student!” She called her student, a bright little boy named Tommy.
“Tommy, I have bad news. I won’t be around this week, so don’t come for your lesson,” she said gently.
Tommy was disappointed but he loved spending time with his grandpa, so he thought quickly. He picked up his phone and called his grandpa. “Grandpa! My teacher isn’t coming, so I’ll be free this weekend! Can I come stay with you?”
Grandpa Joe was thrilled. “Of course, Tommy! I can’t wait to see you! But I better let my secretary know; we were going to travel but now we can hang out. I’ll call her right now!”
He called his secretary, Emily, “Hey Emily, my grandson is coming to spend the weekend with me, so we won’t be traveling anymore.
Emily felt a little disappointment because she had already started planning the trip. But she knew family came first. “Got it, I’ll change our plans.”
Now Mike was in a bit of a pickle. He had just made plans with Sarah and didn’t want to disappoint her. So he rushed to call her. “Hey, Sarah! I just found out my wife canceled her trip. We can’t spend the week together after all.”
Sarah was frustrated but then her mind switched back to her lessons. She decided to call Tommy. “Tommy! Guess what? We will still have classes as usual this week!”
Tommy was confused and a bit sad. He called his grandpa, “Grandpa! I’m really sorry, but my teacher said I have to go to classes this week, so I can’t come to visit you!”
Grandpa Joe chuckled to himself, “Oh dear! Change of plans again! Let me call Emily!” He picked up the phone and said, “Emily! My grandson is not coming anymore after all. We are still traveling this week! Make all the arrangements, please!”
Emily couldn’t believe the twists and turns. She was ready to make all the arrangements again, shaking her head and laughing at how crazy this week had turned out.
Life in the city was always full of surprises, and sometimes, plans changed just like that! What a whirlwind of calls and changes!
