Following her role in “Crocodile Dundee,” Linda Kozlowski gained international fame. Co-starring with Paul Hogan, the film was a big turning point in her career. However, after the “Dundee” series and a few other roles, Kozlowski gradually stepped away from the Hollywood spotlight.
Born on January 7, 1958, in Fairfield, Connecticut, Linda Kozlowski pursued her love for acting by joining the prestigious theater program at the Juilliard School. After graduating in 1981, she started her career in various off-Broadway productions.
She later moved on to small roles on Broadway and TV, including the TV movie “Death of a Salesman,” where she acted alongside Dustin Hoffman.
Linda’s journey to stardom wasn’t easy. After “Death of a Salesman,” she moved to California and worked as a waitress. Dustin Hoffman, who had become her mentor, and his wife, offered her a place to stay in their Malibu beach house. From there, Linda went to an audition that changed her life forever.
Dustin Hoffman recommended Linda for the role of Sue Charlton in “Crocodile Dundee.” She auditioned and got the part. The film’s success was huge, making over $320 million on a $10 million budget, and it made Linda Kozlowski a star almost overnight.
Interestingly, her fame first took off in Australia, where the film was released early.
Despite her new stardom, Linda felt she didn’t get the attention she deserved in Hollywood. She continued to act in the “Crocodile Dundee” sequels but turned down many roles that typecast her as the girlfriend of a comic actor. After the third “Dundee” film, she decided to leave acting altogether.
In her personal life, Linda found love with her co-star Paul Hogan during the “Crocodile Dundee” series. They married in 1990 and had a son named Chance in 1998. However, their marriage ended in 2014.
After her divorce from Paul Hogan, Linda chose to live life on her own terms. She received a significant settlement and decided to focus on something new. She turned her attention to Morocco, where she met Moulay Hafid Baba, a local tour guide. Their connection was instant, leading to a big life change.
Together, Linda and Moulay Hafid Baba started a luxury travel agency called Dream My Destiny in Marrakech. They create unique travel experiences tailored to their clients’ preferences.
Linda’s life had shifted from Hollywood to the beautiful landscapes of Morocco.
While Linda Kozlowski may have left the acting world, her legacy as Sue Charlton in “Crocodile Dundee” remains. At 63 years old, she embraces her adventurous and fulfilling life in Morocco.
She finds real life more rewarding than fiction, using her intuition, honed during her acting career, to create memorable experiences for others.
