Linda Kozlowski’s life changed forever after her role in the iconic film “Crocodile Dundee.” Starring alongside Paul Hogan, her performance as Sue Charlton turned her into a global sensation. Yet, despite the massive success of the movie and its sequels, Linda eventually stepped away from the Hollywood limelight. What led her down this path, and where did life take her after her time on the silver screen?

Born on January 7, 1958, in Fairfield, Connecticut, Linda discovered her passion for acting early in life. Determined to turn her dreams into reality, she enrolled in the prestigious theater program at the Juilliard School. By 1981, she had graduated and was ready to take on the world.

Linda’s early career saw her performing in off-Broadway musicals, showcasing her talent and building her confidence as an actress. Eventually, she landed roles on Broadway and in television productions, including the TV movie adaptation of Arthur Miller’s “Death of a Salesman,” where she shared the screen with Dustin Hoffman.

However, Linda’s journey to stardom was not without its struggles. Despite her promising start, she faced periods of uncertainty. After her role in “Death of a Salesman,” she took on a job as a waitress to make ends meet. During this challenging time, Dustin Hoffman and his wife stepped in to support her.

They offered Linda a place to stay at their Malibu beach house, providing her with the stability she needed to focus on her dreams. Hoffman became a mentor to Linda and even encouraged her to audition for a role that would ultimately define her career.

“You’ve got the talent,” Hoffman reportedly told her. “Go for it. This role could be your big break.”

Linda took his advice and auditioned for the part of Sue Charlton in “Crocodile Dundee.” Her performance impressed the filmmakers, and she secured the role. The 1986 film became a box-office phenomenon, grossing nearly $320 million worldwide on a modest $10 million budget.

Linda’s portrayal of the smart and adventurous journalist earned her widespread acclaim and made her a household name. Interestingly, the movie’s early release in Australia helped Linda gain a dedicated fan base there before the film’s global success.

Despite her newfound fame, Linda felt unfulfilled by the opportunities Hollywood offered her. She was often typecast and received numerous offers to play the girlfriend of a comedic lead. “I didn’t want to be just a pretty face standing next to the guy who gets all the laughs,” Linda later explained.

While she did reprise her role as Sue Charlton in the “Crocodile Dundee” sequels, she chose to step away from acting after the third installment, feeling that her creative aspirations were not being met.

During the filming of the “Crocodile Dundee” series, Linda and Paul Hogan developed a deep connection. They married in 1990 and welcomed their son, Chance, in 1998. However, after 24 years of marriage, the couple divorced in 2014. Reflecting on their relationship, Linda said, “We shared some incredible moments, but life takes us in different directions sometimes.”

Following her divorce, Linda decided to chart a new course for her life. With a substantial financial settlement, she sought to explore the world beyond Hollywood. Her journey led her to Morocco, where she met Moulay Hafid Baba, a local tour guide. Their instant connection blossomed into a partnership that extended beyond romance.

Together, Linda and Moulay Hafid Baba founded Dream My Destiny, a luxury tourism company based in Marrakech. Their business specializes in crafting personalized travel experiences for clients, blending Linda’s eye for detail with Moulay’s deep knowledge of Moroccan culture. “Helping people discover the magic of Morocco is incredibly rewarding,” Linda shared.

Now in her sixties, Linda has found happiness far away from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. She thrives in her new role as a businesswoman, helping travelers create unforgettable memories. While she will always be remembered as Sue Charlton, Linda’s real-life adventures have proven even more fulfilling than her on-screen ones.
