Ronan Keating Leaves Radio Job: “Waking Up with My Wife in the Morning”

In a conversation with co-host Harriet Scott, he said, “Even though I won’t be waking the nation up with you anymore, I’m excited to get back to what I was doing before – you know, returning to my music and touring. Even though I did it, sometimes it wasn’t easy to do both.”

He further explained that he wants to be with his family again – “you know, taking the kids to school and all those things I’ve missed. Waking up with my wife in the morning? I know it sounds silly, but that’s really important, and I’ve missed it,” Keating said.

The 47-year-old Boyzone star has been co-hosting the morning show with Harriet Scott since September 2017. His last show will be on July 31, but he mentioned that he will remain part of the “Magic Radio” family.

On his Instagram page, he reposted the news from the “Magic FM” radio station: “After seven fantastic years, Ronan has announced that he is hanging up his headphones at ‘Magic Breakfast’.”

Concerns for Storm Keating

The Irish musician’s resignation announcement comes just days after he worried fans with a cryptic Instagram post about his wife Storm Keating, 42. He revealed a new tattoo on the back of his arm in honor of his wife: a black-and-white drawing of a warrior woman with a sword. In the caption, Keating explained that the tattoo is for Storm, praising her “strength” and stating that he will be by her side.

He wrote: “For you, my warrior, today and every day. My Stormy. A challenge lies ahead of us, but your strength overwhelms me. I’m with you every step of the way. I love you, baby.”

His followers were quick to praise the singer, but many also flooded the comments with messages expressing their concern for Storm and sending well wishes. Comments included: “Hope Storm is okay, love the tattoo. Sending lots of love and positive prayers. Hope Storm is alright?”

Ronan Keating has been married to the 42-year-old TV producer since 2015, after meeting her in 2010 on “The X Factor Australia.” The couple has a seven-year-old son, Cooper Archer, and a four-year-old daughter, Coco Knox. Keating also has three children from his previous marriage to Yvonne Connolly: Jack, 25, Missy, 23, and Ali, 18.
