Last week, Reba McEntire made history by hosting the American Country Music Awards for a record-breaking 17th time, and she definitely grabbed her share of the spotlight.
The legendary singer was the host of the ceremony in Fresco, Texas, a role she’s taken on many times before, including in 2019 and just last year. At 69 years old, Reba is a pro at this, and her opening monologue proved she was ready to deliver another memorable performance.
Fans watching from home had plenty of good things to say about Reba’s hosting skills, and they were also quick to praise her stylish outfit on the red carpet.
According to reports, Reba wowed everyone on the red carpet with a black sequined blazer and a pair of flared trousers by Roberto Cavalli that had a beautiful lace pattern. She completed her stunning look with turquoise jewelry, including a necklace and chandelier earrings.
Reba’s outfit caused a buzz online, with fans raving about her look. The singer, who also sang the “Star Spangled Banner” at this year’s Super Bowl, is a beloved figure across the country, and her fans were out in full force after the 2024 ACM Awards.
“Absolutely stunning as usual, Reba,” one person commented.
Another fan added, “You are amazing at what you do, but it’s also important to mention how amazing you look.”
“She is one gorgeous woman,” another admirer chimed in.
But it wasn’t just her look that got people talking—Reba’s natural hosting talent also left a strong impression. This year’s event marked the 17th time Reba has hosted the awards, and her connection to the ACM Awards goes back over 40 years to when she won her first award.
Reba didn’t miss the chance to joke about her long history with the event. She quipped, “Jelly Roll used to be the name of an after-school snack,” referring to the award-nominated country artist Jelly Roll.
She also joked that she used to ride a stagecoach to school, not realizing it would later become a popular country music festival.
Fans watching the show didn’t hold back their thoughts on Reba’s performance.
“Having Reba host this year’s show is like having your favorite aunt come over for dinner,” one fan on X wrote. “She’s so sweet & you love to hear from her.”
Another said, “Reba is just an absolutely incredible entertainer; country music is lucky to have her.”
“It’s always a good time and a party,” another fan added.
Someone else even called McEntire “the ultimate host.”
