It’s important to teach kids early on to love and respect their country. They should also learn to appreciate the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who fought for the freedoms we have today.

One way to show respect for these heroes and the country is by standing when the National Anthem is played. But sadly, many young people don’t do this anymore.

In case you didn’t know, The Star-Spangled Banner became the national anthem of the United States in 1931. Its lyrics come from a poem called The Defence of Fort McHenry, written by Francis Scott Key in September 1814.

Key wrote this poem after witnessing the British Navy bomb Fort McHenry during the Battle of Baltimore in the War of 1812. As the sun rose after the battle, Key saw the U.S. flag still standing, inspiring him to write the lyrics every American knows today.

Now, The Star-Spangled Banner is played at major events like sports games to remind us that, despite our differences in race, religion, or politics, we are all Americans.

This song isn’t easy to perform—it’s tough because of its challenging lyrics and high notes. That’s why only professional musicians usually sing it, or it’s played as a recording.

But recently, a 10-year-old boy named Jadon Perez caught everyone’s attention with his incredible voice.

Jadon is already popular on TikTok, but he became a sensation when a video of him singing the national anthem at a golf tournament fundraiser went viral.

Before Jadon took the stage, someone announced, “I want him to come try out for The Voice, that’s how good this little boy is!”

When Jadon began to sing, he blew everyone away with his amazing talent. The audience was moved, and even the adults couldn’t help but get emotional as his angelic voice filled the air. He received tons of praise for his powerful performance.

One viewer, a veteran, commented under the video, “I’m a 75-year-old retired army vet who served twice in South Vietnam and in Desert Storm. Just hearing this young man with this gift made me appreciate what this country is all about. God bless you, young man, and may your life be full of much joy and happiness.”
