Girl Abandoned By Parents For Her Looks Wants To Prove The World Wrong – Now She Models For Vogue

From the moment a child is born, their parents play a huge role in shaping their lives. Kids need love and protection to grow up happy and healthy. But what if a child has to face life without their parents? The scars from that experience can be deep and lasting.

Meet Xueli Abbing, a brave 16-year-old girl from China. Sadly, her journey began with heartbreak. Her parents abandoned her when she was just a baby, leaving her at the door of an orphanage. They thought she looked too “weird.” But instead of being lost forever, she found a new beginning. The kind staff at the orphanage gave her a beautiful name: Xueli, which means “Snow White” and “beautiful” in Chinese.

Xueli was born with albinism, a genetic condition that makes her skin, hair, and eyes very light. While many see her as unique, not everyone has treated her kindly. Luckily, she was adopted by a loving Dutch family who embraced her and helped her shine.

At just 11 years old, Xueli’s life took a surprising turn when a designer in Hong Kong noticed her beauty. He invited her to model in a photoshoot celebrating different kinds of beauty. “She called the campaign ‘perfect imperfections’ and asked if I wanted to join her fashion show in Hong Kong,” Xueli said in an interview with the BBC. “That was an amazing experience.”

But the world can be a harsh place. Many people with albinism face discrimination and prejudice because of their appearance. In some extreme cases, they are even hunted due to false beliefs about their bodies having magical healing powers. Reflecting on her story, Xueli said, “I’m lucky I was only abandoned.”

It’s heartbreaking to think that some models with albinism are often portrayed as angels or ghosts. This depiction makes Xueli sad. “It makes me sad,” she shared, as she dreams of a world where people are valued for who they are, not how they look.

Xueli is determined to make a change. “I’m not going to accept that children are being murdered because of their albinism. I want to change the world,” she declared passionately.

With her modeling career on the rise, Xueli has a powerful platform to share her story and inspire others. We wish this stunning “Snow White” all the best on her journey ahead! We truly hope she makes a big difference in how people view those with albinism, showing that everyone deserves love and respect, no matter how they look.
