College Singers Take Josh Groban’s Hit to New Heights with Acapella Magic

The Rise of BYU Vocal Point
Back in 1991, two BYU students, Dave Boyce and Bob Ahlander, had a dream of creating an amazing acapella group. That dream became reality with the founding of BYU Vocal Point, a nine-member ensemble that quickly became popular on campus.
Their very first concert was a huge success, completely selling out and leaving the audience wanting more.
Over the years, BYU Vocal Point has achieved many exciting milestones. One of their biggest moments came when they competed in the third season of NBC’s “The Sing-Off,” where they proudly finished in fifth place.
In December 2018, they announced a fantastic new chapter in their journey: a record deal with Universal Music Group’s classical label, Decca Gold. One member, Jason Bromley, expressed the group’s enthusiasm, stating, “We’re ordinary college students doing extraordinary things.”
