Liam Neeson, the famous Northern Irish actor, has gone through some significant changes recently. Known for his powerful roles, Neeson now seems to have lost some of his unique qualities.
A recent change to the logo for violent films hints that his recent years haven’t been easy. Neeson has also announced that he will no longer be doing action films.
At 68, Liam Neeson feels he has lost his identity. He looks much older after losing a lot of weight suddenly. Realizing his time in action films is coming to an end, Neeson has decided to focus on “softer” roles. “Yes, of course.
Yes, I do believe that. I’m nearly 69 years old, or 68 and a half. I’m hoping to do a couple things this year,” he shared.
During recent appearances, Neeson looked pale, aged, and exhausted. He admitted, “I should no longer be appearing in films where I will be competing against men twice or three times my age due to my physical condition.”
“I just finished filming ‘Blacklight’ in Australia,” he said. “Taylor is a very nice young man, but we had a fight scene. He had barely warmed up when I struggled for air halfway through the bout.
When I asked his age, he told me he was 25. I was shocked and realized he was just one year old when my oldest kid was born.”
In the 1990s, Neeson wowed audiences with his performance in Steven Spielberg’s “Schindler’s List,” earning a Best Actor Academy Award nomination. He has also starred in films like Clash of the Titans, Taken, Chloe, and The Other Man.
Tragically, after his wife Natasha Richardson died in a skiing accident in Quebec in 2009, Neeson has been living alone. She suffered a devastating brain injury that claimed her life. “They declared her brain dead.
When I saw the x-ray, I was shocked. The machines were keeping her alive. I approached her and said, ‘Honey, after this, you’re not coming back. It has knocked you out. That is what happened to you,’ in case she was listening.”
Liam Neeson has two sons, Michael and Daniel, both working in the film industry. His mother, Catherine “Kitty” Neeson, passed away on June 6, 2020, the day before his birthday. She had been at the Slemish Nursing Home and had a difficult recovery following a fall.
Kitty’s funeral was attended only by close friends and family. Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus epidemic, Liam Neeson, who lives in New York, was unable to attend his mother’s burial.
