My in-laws were in a serious car accident, and while they survived, they were badly hurt. My husband was determined to stay at the hospital with them. I tried to reason with him, saying, “I’m your wife; you should put me first!” But he wouldn’t budge, so I decided to go on our honeymoon by myself.
While I was away, I was stunned to see a Facebook post of him enjoying coffee with a woman friend. I immediately called him and said, “It doesn’t look like you’re spending much time at the hospital.”
He sounded annoyed and snapped back, “This photo was taken in the hospital cafeteria. My friend Amy came to support me during this tough time, which is more than I can say for you!”
When I got home ten days later, I found a note on the table that read, “It’s better if we spend some time apart. It seems you don’t understand the value of family.”
I’m heartbroken and feel like our marriage is falling apart before it even started. I still think he should have been with me on our honeymoon. What should I do? – Suzy
