Keanu Reeves is one of the most beloved celebrities of his generation. It’s hard to find anyone who has met him and has something bad to say about him. So, when Keanu shared an unfortunate incident that happened to him, everyone was worried.
The Incident
Keanu has been busy filming his latest project, “Good Fortune.” He appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and shared a story that had many concerned.
The 59-year-old actor revealed how he broke his kneecap while filming. Known for his action-packed roles in movies like The Matrix and the John Wick series, Keanu explained that this injury happened in a surprisingly simple way.
The Interview
Colbert asked, “What happened? Who got to you?”
In a tough guy voice, Keanu replied playfully, “No one got to me. Accident got to me.”
Colbert probed further, “Were you jumping from building to building? Doing a cartwheel past razor blades? What were you doing?”
Keanu explained, “No, Stephen, I was walking into the dressing room, a room. I will tell it quick.”
The Story
Keanu shared that he was filming a scene for an upcoming comedy titled “Good Fortune” with Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogen. The three were enjoying a cold plunge. Afterward, Keanu started doing the “cold shuffle” in a room with protective carpets. Unfortunately, his foot got caught in a pocket of the carpet.
He stood up to demonstrate what had happened, walking in front of Stephen’s desk and showing how his knee gave way. “And I spiked. Like, spiked,” he said, mimicking the fall. “Just drove it into the ground.”
“My patella, kneecap, cracked like a potato chip. But I didn’t know that. But then my knee started blowing up,” Keanu continued.
The Aftermath
“Comedy is hard, man,” Keanu joked.
“This was not an action film with Aziz and Rogen,” Stephen clarified.
“No, it was comedy,” Keanu confirmed.
“Welcome to my life,” Stephen joked.
Keanu had been spotted filming on crutches in January with an ice pack on his knee.
The Movie
“Good Fortune” not only stars Aziz Ansari but will also be his directorial debut. Aziz wrote and co-produced the movie, which also stars Sandra Oh and Keke Palmer.
Despite the injury, Keanu’s sense of humor and dedication to his craft continue to shine. His fans can’t wait to see him back in action, even if it’s in a comedy this time.
