Weddings are always a big deal, and when it’s the daughter of a global superstar, it’s even more special. Over the weekend, Sofia Richie, daughter of legendary singer Lionel Richie, had a wedding in the South of France that was nothing short of spectacular.
Sofia Richie, a model and social media star, tied the knot with British record executive Elliot Grainge in a stunning ceremony. The South of France provided the perfect backdrop for their unforgettable day.
Sofia, born on August 24, 1998, to Lionel Richie and his second wife Diane Alexander, has been in the public eye for years. Her parents divorced in 2004, and Sofia has previously been linked to celebrities like Justin Bieber and Scott Disick.
For her wedding, Sofia wore three incredible custom-made dresses from the fashion house Chanel.
Her first look was a jaw-dropping high-neck, long-sleeved gown designed by Chanel Haute Couture. This dazzling dress, adorned with intricate beads, was worn for her rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding.
Sofia looked like a fairytale princess in this gown. In a clip shared by Vogue, Sofia can be heard saying, “I’m scared to move because I don’t want to ruin one bead.” She added, “This is like a fairytale. It really is. It’s like an art piece. I feel like a princess, I really do!”
To complement this look, she wore diamond drop earrings from House of Harlow 1960, designed by her older sister, Nicole Richie. Nicole shared her joy on Instagram, saying, “Making these earrings for my sister is a moment I will never forget.”
For the wedding itself, Sofia chose another Chanel Haute Couture creation. This stunning dress featured a halter neckline and was paired with a sparkling veil. Her hair was styled in a chic low chignon, and her natural dewy makeup highlighted her beauty. Sofia gave her fans a glimpse of her bridal look by posting a video of herself tossing her bouquet.
Her third and final dress of the day was a Chanel Haute Couture two-piece minidress, which she wore to the after-party. Sofia was thrilled about this dress, saying, “This, to me, is like my little girl dream. And the fact that it is inspired by Claudia Schiffer’s runway dress is iconic and dope.”
Sofia and Elliot started dating in 2021 and got engaged the following year. Sofia converted to Judaism in preparation for the wedding.
The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, and we wish the happy couple all the best for their future together. Make sure to share this stunning wedding story with your friends and family so they can enjoy it too!
