After their royal exit, Prince Harry (39) and Meghan Markle (42) settled in the USA. The Sussexes aimed for a fresh start and a new beginning there.

The couple signed lucrative deals, including one with streaming giant Netflix. They earned around $100 million (approximately 90.2 million Swiss Francs) for it.

However, now the deal is on shaky ground. The five-year contract is set to expire in a few months, according to the “Daily Express.” If it is not renewed, Harry and Meghan could face financial difficulties!

Sussexes Have Done “Little” for the Deal

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams believes so. He told the “Mirror” that the Sussexes have done “little” for the lucrative Netflix deal. Additionally, the streaming service is no longer producing “The Crown,” a series about the British palace. Therefore, there may be less interest in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The royal expert warns: “If they were to lose this contract (…), they could indeed face financial difficulties.” This is especially concerning given the limited donations to their charity foundation, Archewell.

About two years ago, Harry and Meghan released a multi-part Netflix docuseries. In it, they discussed their exit from the British royal family and the period afterward.

The couple has since lived in the upscale neighborhood of Montecito, California. The renegade royals reside there with their children in a multi-million dollar mansion.

Since leaving the palace, Harry and Meghan have tried numerous projects. For instance, the Duchess of Sussex had her own podcast on Spotify. However, the deal with the music platform ended prematurely.

Meghan Markle Has Financial Fears

Meanwhile, Harry published his autobiography last year. The memoir turned out to be a bestseller but caused controversy in Britain. The redhead did not cast his royal family in a positive light.

Despite their fame, the Duchess of Sussex, in particular, still has financial fears.

Royal expert Tom Quinn recently told the “Mirror”: “A major problem is that Meghan often seems almost compulsively driven by money. Despite the couple’s enormous wealth, Meghan always thinks it is not enough.”

And now it seems her fears might be justified.

Currently, the former actress is working on a new project: her own lifestyle brand. Under the name “American Riviera Orchard,” Meghan Markle plans to sell various products. These include cutlery, cookbooks, and food items such as jams and other spreads.
