These days, it seems like you can’t go anywhere without the risk of being caught online. We’re in the era of viral videos and pictures, where funny, awkward, and sometimes very personal moments are shared instantly over the internet.
This can be misused, but sometimes it’s for the best, like when people are called out for wrongdoing. That’s what people online thought was happening when an Instagram picture went viral in early March. The photo supposedly showed a message from a mother who left her baby in the car to go shopping at Target.
Scary, right? But don’t worry, there’s more to this story.
Influencer Bonnie Engle posted a reel on Instagram back in March, and it went viral fast. The video got millions of views and over 1,000 comments since it was posted.
The video starts with a close-up of a handwritten note taped inside a car window. It says, “My baby is OK. He’s got his drink and his nibbles! I’m in Target right now. Back soon!”
Naturally, a lot of people who saw the video were shocked by the note.
But those who watched the whole video quickly realized that Engle is more of a prankster than a terrible mom. A few seconds after the close-up on the note, the camera pans back to reveal that Engle’s “baby” in the car is actually her husband.
“Please no judgment,” Engle captioned the video. “He is safe and well.”
Her husband is seen inside the car, happily munching on some popcorn.
Thankfully, viewers in the comments section found the humor in Bonnie’s video.
One person wrote, “My heart dropped and then I LMAO.”
Another said, “Leaving them in the car is so much easier.”
“For a split second, I thought I was going to lose it… That surprised me, too,” added a third person.
Many of Engle’s posts are lighthearted and perfect for mothers who can relate to the everyday challenges of motherhood.
