My Husband Left Me for His Boss While I Was Pregnant—Then She Offered Me a House in Exchange for One of My Babies

I was seven months pregnant with twins when my world shattered.

I was folding tiny onesies, smiling as I imagined my babies wearing them, when my phone buzzed.

It was a message from Veronica, my husband’s boss. My heart pounded—why would she be messaging me? My first thought was that something had happened to Eric at work. But the truth was far, far worse.

I opened the message, expecting bad news. Instead, I saw a picture of Eric, lying in a strange bed, shirtless, smirking at the camera.

My breath caught in my throat.

Before I could even process the shock, I noticed the caption below the picture:

“It’s time you knew. He’s mine.”

My entire body went cold. My hands trembled as I clutched my phone. Inside me, my babies kicked, sensing my distress. My husband, Eric, was cheating on me—with his boss.

I called him immediately, but it went straight to voicemail. I tried again. And again. Nothing.

I sank onto the couch, placing a hand on my belly.

“Easy, babies,” I whispered. “Mama will take care of you, no matter what. And your daddy… he won’t abandon you. He won’t.”

But I was so, so wrong.

The Betrayal

That evening, Eric finally came home—but he wasn’t alone.

Veronica strutted in beside him like she owned the place. She was tall, confident, and dripping in expensive fashion, the kind of woman who expected the world to bow to her.

I stood in the living room, heart pounding. “Eric… what is this?” My voice was barely above a whisper.

Eric sighed, as if I were an inconvenience. “It’s simple, Lauren. I’m in love with Veronica, so I’m leaving you. Let’s be adults about this and not make a scene, okay?”

His words hit me like knives to the chest.

“You can’t be serious,” I choked out. “I’m having our babies in two months!”

He shrugged. Shrugged! Like he was canceling a dinner reservation instead of abandoning his pregnant wife.

Then Veronica crossed her arms, her perfectly manicured nails tapping against her blazer.

“And since this is Eric’s apartment, you need to be out by the end of the week.”

My vision blurred with fury. “Are you insane? I have nowhere to go! I am carrying HIS children!”

Veronica’s gaze flickered to my belly. “Twins, right?” she mused, tilting her head. “Or triplets? You are rather… swollen.”

She smirked, as if an idea had just formed. “I can offer you a solution.”

I didn’t like the way she said that.

“I’ll rent you a house and cover all your expenses… but I want one of your babies.”

My blood turned to ice. “What?”

She waved a hand dismissively. “I’d love a baby, but I have no interest in ruining my body for it. You, on the other hand, are already doing the hard part. Think of it as a win-win. You’ll never manage two kids alone. I’ll give one the best life—nannies, the best schools… and you get a roof over your head.”

Eric nodded like this was a completely reasonable proposal.

I was too stunned to speak. They were treating my babies like bargaining chips.

I wanted to throw them both out. But I had no family to turn to, no savings to start fresh.

Then an idea formed in my mind.

I took a deep breath, making my voice tremble. “I… I have nowhere else to go. I’ll agree to your deal, but I have one condition.”

Veronica smirked. “Smart girl. What is it?”

“I get to choose which baby you take,” I whispered, looking down as if ashamed. “Just give me time to decide which one will have a better life with you.”

Eric and Veronica exchanged smug glances. They thought I was defeated.

“Fine,” she agreed. “But don’t take too long.”

“One more thing,” I added.

Veronica groaned. “What now?”

“You’ll buy me a house, not rent it. I need security. If you don’t agree, I walk, and you’ll never see either of them.”

She narrowed her eyes, but then shrugged. “Fine. But you better hold up your end of the deal.”

I nodded, keeping my face blank.

But inside? I was grinning.

The Revenge

For the next two months, I played the part of a desperate, heartbroken woman.

Veronica bought me a beautiful three-bedroom house. She and Eric didn’t even bother reading the paperwork when we signed it.

I updated them on my doctor’s appointments. I let Veronica rub my belly while she cooed about “her” baby. I pretended to agonize over which twin to give away.

All while I prepared for the final blow.

The Final Move

I went into labor on a Tuesday night. As contractions hit, I texted Veronica. But when I arrived at the hospital, I made sure the nurses knew:

No visitors. No exceptions.

Six hours later, I held two perfect, tiny girls in my arms—Lily and Emma.

The next morning, I called Veronica. “I’m ready to talk.”

She arrived within an hour, practically bouncing with excitement. Eric trailed behind her, smirking.

“So,” she cooed, “which one is mine?”

I took a deep breath, then met her eyes.

“Neither.”

Her smile froze. “Excuse me?”

I stood up slowly. My body ached, but my voice was strong. “I’m not giving you my child, Veronica. Either of them.”

Eric groaned. “Oh, don’t start this dramatic nonsense—”

“You thought you could buy my baby like some designer handbag?” I snapped. “You played your game. Now watch me win.”

Veronica’s eyes darkened. “Then I’m kicking you out of this house. You can live on the street for all I care.”

I smiled sweetly. “You can’t. This house is in my name.”

Her face drained of color. “No. That’s impossible! Eric, tell her!”

Eric looked just as confused. “We signed the papers together!”

“Yeah,” I said, rocking Lily in my arms. “And you signed it over to me completely. You were too busy gloating to notice.”

Veronica stumbled back like I had slapped her.

“Oh,” I added casually, “I also shared everything on social media. The cheating. The baby deal. The messages. I tagged your company too, Veronica. And your investors. Even the charity boards you sit on.”

Eric snatched my phone, his face turning white as he scrolled. “You—you ruined us!”

“No,” I said calmly. “You ruined yourselves.”

The Aftermath

Eric lost his job. Veronica’s reputation was shredded—blacklisted from every board and business circle.

And me? I rocked my baby girls to sleep in our beautiful home, knowing I didn’t just get revenge.

I won.
