Taking pictures of an expectant mother’s baby bump is a wonderful way for soon-to-be parents to capture the joy and excitement of starting a new family. These pregnancy photos become cherished memories, reminding couples of the moments leading up to their baby’s birth.
While every pregnant woman’s photo is beautiful, some stand out more than others. This was certainly the case for Dan Mozer, 30, and his wife, Angelina. Dan suggested they take some pictures at Atlantic Beach in Jacksonville, Florida, a popular spot for locals to relax, stroll, and snap photos.
Inspired by the scenic beach, Dan asked Angelina to pose with the ocean in the background. He pulled out his camera and started taking pictures. Angelina smiled brightly, proudly showing off her growing baby bump in front of the waves.
But Dan knew he had captured something truly special when he saw what was in the background of one shot. What appeared behind Angelina at just the right moment? A dolphin, leaping out of the sea!
While Dan knew dolphins were in the area, he never imagined he would capture one in his wife’s pregnancy photo. “Oh, my God, when I took it, I thought to myself,” Dan told AWM. Sadly, Angelina completely missed it.
Dan and Angelina credit their soon-to-be-born son, Courtland, for the incredible photo. They joke that Courtland called the dolphin out of his mother’s womb. Dan shared more details with Yahoo:
“We could see the dorsal fins of the dolphins, and someone started screaming to us that there were dolphins.” Then, out of nowhere, the dolphin leaped out of the water.
Dan wondered if the dolphin knew what was happening. “I liked the picture of the first jump the best, but the dolphin actually jumped twice,” he said.
Despite suggestions to rename their son Dolph Finn, Angelina and Dan decided to stick with Courtland. “No, we’re not changing his name to Dolph Finn,” Dan confirmed.
