Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are going through some exciting yet tough times, especially with their children about to start at a new school. However, the couple has faced a lot of criticism, not only for their choice of schools but also because Harry accepted an award many people think he doesn’t deserve.
Even though they live in a stunning mansion in Montecito, California, where they raise their two kids away from paparazzi, everything isn’t perfect.
Reports suggest that Harry and Meghan might be having marriage problems, and Harry has admitted he misses the UK. One royal expert even claims that Harry is “petrified” of losing Meghan and might return to the UK alone.
Controversies and Criticism
Since leaving the royal family, Harry and Meghan have been involved in many controversies. Recently, Harry found himself in another one when he was chosen to receive the Pat Tillman Award.
This award is named after Pat Tillman, a US soldier who was killed in Afghanistan, and it’s given to people who make a positive impact on the veteran community. ESPY honored Harry for his work with the Invictus Games, but not everyone agrees with this choice.

Pat Tillman’s mother, Mary, expressed her shock: “I am shocked as to why they would select such a controversial and divisive individual to receive the award. Some recipients are far more fitting.” This backlash led to a petition on Change.org, which gathered over 70,000 signatures asking ESPN to reconsider.
A spokesman for ESPY responded, “While we understand not everyone will agree with all honorees selected for any award, The Invictus Games Foundation does incredible work, and ESPN believes this is a cause worth celebrating.”
Harry’s Reaction and Public Opinion
According to The Telegraph, Harry was surprised by the negative reaction. A source said that being criticized for his work with veterans was especially hard for Harry. “Harry’s legacy on Invictus, the things he has achieved, that’s his real passion. The reaction certainly took the shine off the award,” the source added.

US commentator Lee Cohen also criticized the decision, saying, “The idea of rewarding a Royal Prince who abandoned his duty and capitalized on his title for personal gain is an affront to the legacy of Pat Tillman.”
Royal expert Grant Harrold, who worked as a butler to King Charles, told the New York Post that Harry might even consider declining the award due to the backlash. Harrold added, “He’d never want to cause any upset.”
Problems at Home
On top of the award controversy, things at home might not be going well. Some royal experts and newspaper sources claim Harry misses his life in the UK.
Tom Quinn suggests that Harry misses his old friends, who haven’t visited him in California because they don’t get along with Meghan. As a result, Harry might be looking for a permanent home in the UK.
“There is a growing rift between Harry and Meghan,” Quinn said. “Meghan’s increasing concern that her life is not going in the direction she had planned” is putting pressure on their relationship.

Future in the UK?
Royal expert Hugo Vickers believes that Harry might return to the UK but without Meghan. “I think he’ll come home,” Vickers told The Sun. He added that if Harry returns, King Charles would welcome him back into the royal family as a working member.
Vickers also mentioned, “If you’re taking things out of life, at the risk of getting a lot of hate mail, I personally think that he looks like he’s petrified of losing her [Meghan] and looks slightly petrified of her.”

Struggles in Hollywood
Reports say Meghan wants to be part of the Hollywood elite, but many celebrities and former friends of the couple no longer want anything to do with them. As their experiences in the US and Hollywood life differ, the pressure is building on their relationship.
“There is a growing rift between Harry and Meghan,” Quinn told the Mirror. “Meghan feels very much under siege,” he added.
