Although her son Peter already has a new girlfriend, Princess Anne apparently still feels close to her former daughter-in-law: The 74-year-old and Autumn Phillips recently attended a horse trial together.

After his divorce from Autumn Phillips, 46, in 2021, Peter Phillips, 47, was in a relationship for about three years with Lindsay Wallace, the daughter of an oil magnate. But in early April 2024, his spokesperson announced their separation. Just a few weeks later, the Queen’s grandson was spotted for the first time with Harriet Sperling, with whom he is still in a relationship today.

His mother, Princess Anne, 74, however, seems to maintain a close bond with her former daughter-in-law: she was recently seen with Autumn at a horse trial.

Princess Anne and Autumn Phillips Show Affection in Public

On Sunday, April 27, 2025, Princess Anne and Autumn Phillips attended the Cirencester Park Horse Trials in Gloucestershire. The younger sister of King Charles, 76, and her former daughter-in-law were there to cheer on Zara Tindall, 43, who was participating in the competition.

The 46-year-old Autumn, who shares daughters Savannah, 14, and Isla, 13, with Peter, appeared affectionate with Anne on the sidelines. They strolled together across the field—with Anne now needing a walking stick. The two women chatted animatedly and shared laughter.

Peter Phillips’ Ex-Wife “Was by No Means Excluded”

Royal photographer James Whatling was also at the event and shared with Hello! how Princess Anne and Autumn Phillips interacted. “It was just nice and relaxed,” he said, adding, “Zara had a group of mates with her. Autumn was there too, which was lovely to see. She’s clearly still part of the family and was chatting with Anne and everyone else. She was by no means excluded, and it was a nice little support team for Zara.” According to him, Peter Phillips’ family and his ex-wife still remain a close-knit unit.
