Two years ago, the construction work began on Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel’s new holiday home. Now, the renovations are reportedly complete. According to “Svensk Damtidning,” the family used the Swedish Midsummer Festival to inaugurate their new home.
The Midsummer Festival is a major highlight in Sweden – even for the royal family. Every year, Princess Victoria, 46, Prince Daniel, 50, and their loved ones celebrate the festivities exuberantly. This year, the Swedish royals gathered once again to celebrate the summer solstice. However, Victoria reportedly chose a new location. According to “Svensk Damtidning,” the Crown Princess invited them to her new holiday home.
Princess Victoria: The “H&M” Mogul is Her New Neighbor
Victoria, Daniel, Princess Estelle, 12, and Prince Oscar, 8, now have a splendid property. The estate is located in the Stockholm archipelago – the group of islands east of the capital. The Crown Princess and her husband chose a house in the municipality of Värmdö on the island of Fågelbrolandet.
This choice was not random: According to “Svensk Damtidning,” it’s a popular hotspot for the high society. Among their neighbors are reportedly the Persson family – one of the most well-known families in the country. Entrepreneur Stefan Persson, 76, is a billionaire and the man behind the fashion label “H&M.”
Princess Madeleine Celebrates Without Chris O’Neill
The old building, supposedly constructed in 1930, was torn down by the royals. Since 2022, construction on the new house for the heir to the throne has been underway. Now, Prince Daniel, his wife, and their children took advantage of the Midsummer Festival to show the entire family the new residence. King Carl Gustaf, 78, and Queen Silvia, 80, as well as Princess Madeleine, 42, attended the housewarming party. Only Madeleine’s husband Chris O’Neill, 49, missed the family event.
The estate, which reportedly covers over 16,000 square meters, now features four building complexes: a main residence and three outbuildings. Additionally, there is said to be a swimming pool. The private lakeside property is not visible to outsiders. A two-meter-high wall surrounds the area, providing the royals with protection from more than just curious eyes.
Princess Victoria’s New Holiday Villa Offers Numerous Advantages
“Svensk Damtidning” reports that the Swedish heir to the throne plans to divide her holidays in the future. The family will spend several weeks a year as usual on Öland, but will now also spend some vacation days on Fågelbrolandet. A smart decision, considering the new estate’s advantages.
One major benefit is its proximity to Stockholm, allowing the royal family to make spontaneous trips to the holiday home and return to the capital quickly if needed. Victoria and Prince Daniel’s primary residence, Haga Palace, is only a 32-minute drive away. The short distance facilitates weekend trips and winter getaways.
