Penny Lancaster, the wife of rock star Rod Stewart, has found herself at the center of a social media storm after being spotted on a yacht off the coast of Sardinia, Italy, in a very tiny bikini.
Some people on social media had strong opinions about her choice of swimwear. They commented that the 53-year-old blonde looked “sagging” and “drooping” in her swimsuit, while others defended her, saying there’s “no need for name-calling.”

Rod Stewart, despite his busy tour schedule, decided to take some much-needed time off to enjoy a family holiday in Sardinia with his wife, Penny. The couple, who got married in 2007, decided to bring their big family along.
Penny shared a happy post on Instagram, saying, “Another amazing family holiday together (a few were sadly missed) in the [Mediterranean] bonding, healing, love, and laughter.” The post featured a picture of Rod, who is now 79, with his daughters Kimberly, 44, and Ruby, 37, and sons Aiden, 13, and Alastair, 18.
Also joining the fun were Rod’s sons-in-law, Adam Sumner and Jake Alick, and his adorable grandson Otis, who is just over a year old.
In a July 2024 interview with Hello! magazine, Penny shared how important these family gatherings are to her. “We like to take every opportunity to bring the family, children, and grandchildren together,” she said. “The whole clan gets together at least two or three times a year, but it takes a lot of planning because part of the family lives in America and part in England.”

Before heading back to Las Vegas for his residency at Caesars Palace, Rod and Penny were spotted enjoying the sun on a $65 million super yacht in Porto Cervo, a beautiful seaside town in northern Sardinia.
Rod, famous for songs like “Tonight’s the Night,” kept cool in a lemon-colored button-down shirt and shielded his face from the blazing sun with a towel. Meanwhile, Penny showed off her figure in a tiny black bikini, her hair pulled back in a ponytail.
However, not everyone was a fan of her look. Some people on social media criticized Penny’s bikini choice, saying the mother of two should rethink her outfit. One critic tweeted, “After noticing the drooping, sagging, and wrinkled skin barely held together by the bikini… it’s more like ‘Ewwww.'”

But there were also those who defended her. One supporter wrote, “The swimsuit is not flattering, but let’s stop the criticism; she’s in her 50s. She may not look amazing to everyone, but there’s no need to be mean.”

Meanwhile, Rod Stewart showed off his own unique style. On July 12, he posted a picture of himself on the yacht wearing a black and white striped short suit, teasing his return to Caesars Palace.

His outfit was a modern twist on a suit he wore back in 1973. It’s just one of many “anything but subtle” outfits that have earned him the title of “fashion icon,” according to Vogue magazine.
