Sally Field, a legendary actress, soared to fame with a career spanning over 50 years, starting as a boy-crazy surfer girl in the sitcom Gidget.
Field’s talent earned her two Academy Awards for her roles in Norma Rae and Places in the Heart. She also won three Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, two Golden Satellite Awards, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Throughout her career, Field worked with Hollywood’s biggest names and starred in movies that remain classics.
In 2014, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Field, a mother of three, made a memorable statement during her acceptance speech at the 2007 Emmy Awards when she won for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series: “If the mothers ruled the world, there would be no goddamn wars in the first place.”
Field was married twice. In 1968, she married Steven Craig, her first husband. They divorced five years later, finalizing it in 1975. They had two sons:
Peter Craig, a novelist and screenwriter, and Eli Craig, an actor and filmmaker known for directing the cult horror comedy Tucker & Dale vs Evil.
Field began dating Burt Reynolds in 1976. They co-starred in four movies during their relationship: Smokey and the Bandit, Smokey and the Bandit II, The End, and Hooper. Their relationship lasted until 1982, with a few on-and-off periods.
Field’s second marriage was to Alan Greisman from 1989 to 1994. They have a son named Sam Greisman.
At 76 years old, Sally Field is still considered a strikingly beautiful woman, and her transformation over the years only adds to her charm. She defies aging gracefully.
