Sally Field has always been a star in my eyes—a true Hollywood legend. At 76, she’s had a remarkable career filled with memorable roles and lots of on-screen kisses.
She’s starred in iconic movies like Steel Magnolias, where her emotional performance really touched me. Sally’s also been a familiar face on TV, from The Flying Nun to Forrest Gump. She’s done it all!
Growing up in Pasadena, California, Sally faced tough times. In her memoirs, she bravely shared her struggles, including abuse from her stepfather and a secret abortion at 17.
But despite it all, Sally’s known for her kindness and humility. Even now, she’s still acting, taking on roles like Janice in Dispatches From Elsewhere and Jessie Buss in the upcoming Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.
Recently, on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” Sally spilled the beans on her worst on-screen kiss after a fan’s question. Laughing nervously, she revealed it was with none other than her ex-boyfriend, Burt Reynolds!
Andy Cohen was surprised, asking, “Weren’t you two dating?” Sally explained how it was tough working with him on “Smokey and the Bandit.” She joked about how much Burt would drool during their scenes together!
Their romance started in 1977 during filming, and they dated for nearly five years. Burt later wrote about their relationship in his memoir. Sadly, he passed away at 82, and Sally opened up about why they drifted apart.
“He wasn’t the right person for me,” Sally explained. “He made me feel more important than I really was, and that just wasn’t what I wanted.”
Sally’s honesty shows her strength, both on and off screen. She’s a true inspiration, proving that even in Hollywood, real life isn’t always a fairy tale.
