Since July 2023, Simone Ballack and Heiko Grote have been a couple. But now it seems to be over. The managing director makes it clear that he is single.
Simone Ballack, 48, and Heiko Grote have apparently separated. What once began promisingly and led to a break now seems to be over. The entrepreneur expressed this to “Bild.”
Initially, It Was Just a Trial Separation
Ballack and Grote were in a relationship for less than a year. At the end of July 2023, the couple published their first joint photo on Instagram. “He was the good thing about this year; the last two years were not so special,” she gushed about her new partner in December of the same year. However, the words Grote used in May 2024 could hardly be more contrasting.
Over the past six months, their relationship seemed to have taken a turn for the worse. “It’s a trial separation. Whether it stays that way or not is still unclear,” he told “Bild” over the phone. The reasons behind this decision initially seemed to remain private. The entrepreneur only vaguely commented, “I’m an emotional person, Simone is an emotional person. We argued a lot. We are both relatively jealous.”
At that point, the separation did not seem final. Not only did Grote’s statement indicate that the breakup was “on trial,” but also his comment on a potential new woman in his life. When asked if there was someone else, he responded firmly, “1,000 percent no.”
“I Have My Own Mind”
Shortly after these statements, Simone Ballack also chose to speak out. “I have contact with Heiko every day. Multiple times. We talk about everything. Maybe it will work out again. And if not, then we will part as friends,” she clarified shortly thereafter to “Bild” and emphasized, “There isn’t always just one specific story as to why you don’t get along at the moment.
We are all no longer twenty and have our own ideas. I’m 48 now, I have my own mind. And if I don’t envision something a certain way, then I have a problem. Nothing specific has to happen. It’s more of an accumulation of things that I don’t like.”

What seemed to be just a break for a while has now become a real separation. In another conversation with “Bild,” Heiko Grote explained that he is a “happy single.” He reported this after his court appointment regarding the divorce from his first wife, a milestone that has now been completely resolved. “The fact that I was still married was always a stumbling block in our relationship.
It was Simone’s wish for me to get a divorce. That was important to her. And I also wanted to be free for her and properly manage my past,” he explained. However, the divorce couldn’t save his love with the 48-year-old. When asked by “Bild,” Simone Ballack confirmed, “I am also a happy single.” Thus, their relationship has now officially ended.
