Tattoos are one of the many ways people show off their unique personality. While some choose small, simple designs, others take it to the next level, covering entire parts of their bodies with detailed artwork.
One person who’s done just that is Tristan Weigelt, a 26-year-old tattoo apprentice. He’s known for his extreme body art, and recently, he shocked people when he revealed photos of what he used to look like before using his body as a canvas for tattoos.

The transformation was mind-blowing.
Tristan’s journey of covering 95 percent of his body in tattoos started when he was 20.

“It’s kind of strange seeing myself without all the tattoos,” Tristan shared with the Daily Star. “But honestly, on the inside, I still feel exactly the same as before.”
Out of all his tattoos, the ones on his face and head were the toughest. He compared the pain to being scraped with a metal brush. “It took six full-day sessions, each lasting between five and six hours,” he explained. “The pain was about an eight out of ten.”

Many people choose tattoos that have deep meanings or personal significance, but Tristan admitted that none of his tattoos have hidden messages or meanings behind them.
Over the course of five years, he has spent an incredible $50,000 on tattoos.

For anyone thinking about getting a tattoo, Tristan had some advice. “Get what you love and what makes sense to you,” he said. “I see so many people worrying about whether a certain tattoo suits them or if it’s their style. If you like it—then get it.”
His message is clear: tattoos are a form of self-expression, and the only person you need to please is yourself.
