Rick Harrison, the famous star of Pawn Stars, has spoken out after the heartbreaking loss of his son, Adam Harrison. Adam, who was just 39 years old, tragically died from a fentanyl overdose in Las Vegas last Friday. His passing has left the Harrison family devastated and grieving.
Rick shared his pain and love for Adam in an emotional Instagram post. He uploaded a photo of the two of them smiling at a bar, writing, “You will always be in my heart! I love you, Adam.”
The news was later confirmed by a family representative, Laura Herlovich. She told the Las Vegas Review-Journal, “Our family is deeply saddened by Adam’s death. We kindly ask for privacy as we mourn this terrible loss.”
Rick also spoke with Fox News Digital to share more details about Adam’s passing and expressed his frustration about the fentanyl crisis in the United States. “Yes, I can confirm Adam died from a fentanyl overdose,” Rick said.
“The fentanyl crisis in this country is out of control. It’s coming across the borders unchecked, and not enough is being done to stop it. We have to do better. We need to protect our communities.”
Fans and celebrities quickly sent messages of support to the grieving family. Donald Trump Jr. commented on Rick’s post, saying, “I’m so sorry, man.”
Adam’s brother, Corey Harrison, also shared his own tribute on Instagram. He posted a sweet childhood photo of the two of them sitting together in a bath. “Wax wtf. I will always love you, bubba,” Corey wrote, showing his deep pain and love for his late brother.
Adam was Rick’s second child from his first marriage to Kim Harrison. While Rick and Corey became well-known for running the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop and starring on Pawn Stars, Adam chose to live a quieter life. He occasionally worked with his father, but most of his life was private.
This tragic loss highlights the growing problem of fentanyl in America. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that overdose deaths involving synthetic opioids like fentanyl increased by 56.6% from January 2020 to 2021.
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has warned that fentanyl is about 100 times stronger than morphine, and just two milligrams—less than the size of a grain of salt—can be deadly depending on a person’s body.
Rick’s plea for action shows how urgent this crisis has become. His words are a reminder that more needs to be done to save lives and stop this epidemic.
The Harrison family has asked for privacy during this painful time.
To Rick, Corey, and the rest of the family, our hearts go out to you. This loss is unimaginable, and we hope you find strength in each other during this dark time.
Rest in peace, Adam. You will always be remembered.
