When natural disasters strike, like the recent hurricanes that swept through the southern United States, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But in those dark moments, heroes often appear—people we may never meet again, but whose actions leave a lasting impact. They’re the ones who help strangers, often saving lives, and restoring our faith in humanity.

A woman who survived Hurricane Milton recently shared her story with Fox News. She had been trying to walk to a friend’s house when she quickly realized she couldn’t make it. The floodwaters were rising fast, and she was struggling just to keep her balance. She was scared, knowing the water was getting dangerously high.

But then, out of nowhere, a man named Roy saw her. He didn’t know her, but he didn’t hesitate. He pulled her into his home, giving her safety when she needed it most.

Tears in her eyes, the woman said, “He had no idea who I was. And his name is Roy. And I want to say, Roy, thank you for saving my life… I almost died.”

Her story touched many people, and it’s just one of many examples of kindness during the chaos of Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

The emotional clip of her interview was shared on Fox News’ Instagram, and it quickly went viral. People were moved by the story, and many expressed their gratitude to Roy for his selfless act.

“Thank you Roy, whoever you are. You’re a good man for saving this poor woman,” one follower wrote.

Another person said, “Thank God for men like Roy! Even in times of fear and tragedy, America can put differences aside and help one another.”

One comment summed up the feelings of many: “These disasters are heartbreaking, but they give us a chance to show compassion and support. It makes the bad a little better when we choose humanity.”
